BJP Forms State Election Committee for Upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls in 2025
New Delhi, December 18: In preparation for the highly anticipated Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its State Election Committee (SEC). The SEC will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the party's electoral strategy and ensuring victory in the upcoming polls.
The newly formed SEC comprises 21 members, handpicked by the party's leadership to guide the campaign and oversee all aspects of the election preparations. Among the notable figures on the committee are:
* Manoj Tiwari: Former Delhi BJP President and former MP from North East Delhi
* Bansuri Swaraj: Member of the Delhi Pradesh BJP Executive Committee
* Arvinder Singh Lovely: Former Congress leader who joined BJP in 2023
* Virendra Sachdeva: Former Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation
The State Election Committee will be responsible for:
* Developing and implementing the overall election strategy
* Selecting and fielding candidates in all 70 Delhi Assembly constituencies
* Managing campaign finances and resources
* Coordinating with party workers and volunteers at the ground level
* Overseeing the party's messaging and outreach efforts
Speaking at a press conference after the announcement, BJP Delhi President Adesh Gupta expressed confidence in the SEC's ability to lead the party to victory in the 2025 polls.
"We have constituted a strong and experienced State Election Committee that will guide our campaign," Gupta said. "We are confident that under their leadership, we will achieve our goal of winning a majority in the Delhi Assembly."
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in February 2025. The BJP, which is currently in opposition in Delhi, will be looking to unseat the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
