New Delhi, March 8, 2023: Ducati India has unveiled the most powerful single-cylinder motorcycle, the Hypermotard 698 Mono, in the country. Priced at Rs 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hypermotard 698 Mono is scheduled to arrive in Ducati dealerships across India by July 2024.

Engine and Performance:

The heart of the Hypermotard 698 Mono is the 659cc Testastretta 11° Desmodromic Superquadro Mono engine. This single-cylinder powerhouse produces 77.5 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 69.5 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. When equipped with the optional Termignoni exhaust, the power output increases to 84.5 bhp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. An optional Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS) is also available for seamless gear changes.

Chassis and Suspension:

The Hypermotard 698 Mono sits on a steel trellis frame with a lightweight subframe. The suspension setup comprises a Marzocchi 45mm USD fork at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear, both fully adjustable. The bike rolls on 17-inch cast aluminum wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires.

Braking and Safety:

Braking duties are handled by Brembo M4.32 radial calipers with twin 320mm discs at the front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The Hypermotard 698 Mono is equipped with Bosch Cornering ABS, which optimizes braking performance while cornering. Ducati Traction Control (DTC) Evo is also present to prevent rear-wheel slippage.

Electronics and Features:

The Hypermotard 698 Mono features a comprehensive electronics package. It has three riding modes (Sport, Touring, and Urban) that adjust the power delivery, traction control, and ABS settings. The motorcycle also gets a fully digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, and a self-canceling turn indicator system.

Availability and Colors:

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono will be available in India in Ducati Red color. Deliveries are expected to commence from July 2024 via CBU (Completely Built-Up) units. Customers can book the motorcycle at their nearest Ducati dealership.
